Chalkboard Mason Jars

June 7, 2012 · 4 comments

Mason jars! Inexpensive and so multi-purposeful.

Remove metal lids from jars and lay flat on newspaper in a well ventilated area. Spray one coat of chalkboard spray paint at a 10-12″ distance. After 1-2 minutes, add another coat. Lids will be dry to touch after 1 hour. To dry completely, allow to sit for 24 hours. Then, using the broad side of chalk, coat entire surface. This “primes” the chalkboard.

Erase and begin labeling jars.

Mason jars: $10.49 for 12 quart-sized jars
Chalkboard spray paint: $5.24

TOTAL: $15.73 for 12 organizational canisters
