Homemade Laundry Detergent

June 20, 2012 · 0 comments

I heard of lots of people making their own laundry detergent and thought they were hippies was ready to try it for myself. It cuts the cost of detergent in half and is quite simple!

Laundry Detergent

1 cup Borax
1 cup Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda
1 bar of Kirk’s Castile Bar Soap

I found all of these products at my general grocery store, without needing to go to a special foods market. Grate bar of soap with a cheese grater and combine with Borax and Super Washing Soda in a large bowl. Mix thoroughly and you’re done! Use 1/2 cup of detergent for each load.
