SUGAR CRUMB DESSERT PIZZA

August 22, 2012

I think dessert pizza has gotten a bad rap. I, at least, associate it with the stale, heat-lamp-for-six-hours-at-Pizza-Hut-buffet stuff. Well, put that image out of your mind and get ready for these cinnamon-y delights made from soft, flaky crescent roll dough.

SUGAR CRUMB DESSERT PIZZA
Makes 8 slices

1 tube crescent roll dough
1/4 cup butter, room temperature
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Dash of salt
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 tablespoon butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon milk

Preheat oven according to crescent roll package instructions. In a small bowl mix together sugar, brown sugar, room temperature butter, flour, cinnamon, and salt. Unroll and separate crescent roll dough onto a baking sheet. Cover with cinnamon sugar topping.

Bake in oven according to package instructions. Mine were ready after 11 minutes at 400 degrees.

For icing glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, melted butter, vanilla, and milk. Drizzle atop pizza slices. My goodness, they are delicious! And they don’t lose any yumminess if you have to refrigerate and reheat later.

This looks delish! However, I noticed that you tend to not put how hot the oven should be in your recipes. If you could include that then it would be helpful. :)

    • It’s best to go by package instructions. I included above that I did 400 degrees for 11 minutes, but it is definitely better to go by the package for your brand of crescent rolls. Are there other recipes missing heating info? Thanks for your comment!
