I like my desserts gooey. Like, make me wonder if I am at risk for salmonella, it-is-as-if-this-was-not-baked softness levels. If I am preaching to the choir to you on this one, you will find these peanut butter blondies a dream come true. So soft and rich, you will think you could only eat half of one. (But then go ahead with some friends and make a notable dent in the whole pan.) Very soft, very delectable, very delicious! Here is the link to the frosting.
SUPER SOFT PEANUT BUTTER BARS
Serves 18-24
10 tablespoons butter
2 cups brown sugar
1 cup creamy peanut butter
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
One batch creamy milk chocolate frosting
Preheat to 325 degrees. Melt butter and sugar together in a skillet over medium heat. Remove from flame and allow to cool for 5 minutes.
Stir peanut butter and vanilla into butter mixture. Allow to cool another 5 minutes.
Crack eggs into skillet and stir well. In a separate bowl, stir together salt, flour, and baking powder. Mix dry and wet ingredients together. Transfer batter to a greased 9×13 baking dish.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool and frost with milk chocolate frosting. I liked mine chilled in the fridge for a bit before eating.
