SALSA

SALSA. Now that is going to be an important recipe to have in the homemaker’s tool belt. It is good on so many things! And a crowd pleaser. Man, I love a good batch of salsa. I like it very smooth. A little bit sweet, and not too spicy. I have become quite devoted to making my own at home because I can get it fresh and just how I like it. Do you make your salsa in a blender or food processor? Or immersion blender? Or just mix by hand for a chunky type??

SALSA
Makes about 2 cups

14 ounces whole canned tomatoes with juice
1 cup grape tomatoes
1/2 onion
2 cloves garlic
1 jalapeno
1 tablespoon honey
1/2 cup cilantro
1 lime, juiced
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1 tablespoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper

Combine all ingredients in a food processor and pulse to your desired consistency. Serve with tortilla chips.
