CLASSIC LEMON BARS

December 1, 2014

During college, I spent two summers living in Virginia Beach, VA. I worked as a waitress at a cheap (but loveable) pizza place. When I was off work, I would often bypass my free employee meal and use my fresh tips to go to this little cafe on the ocean called Taste. All the food at this gem was amazing, but there are two things I still think about now, years later – 1) their famous house dressing and 2) their lemon bars.

Oh the lemon bars. It stresses me out and makes me feel desperate to think of them because I want one so badly. With no plans to visit VA, remembering them only to saddens me. A solution had to be made and the solution is my own lemon bars. The standard is high, but it must done.
