THE ENTRYWAY PLANS

December 15, 2015

We made it through every room! This is the final installment for the Tuesday posts on plans for our house. To finish, I suppose we will go to where you start – the front foyer.

I really like entryways. A formal entry is relatively unnecessary, but I relish a little pomp and a space to welcome you into our house. The garage entry can be the shoes and coats madhouse.

Because we started this series back in August, this room has already progressed a lot from these before pictures during our inspection.

  1. Strip wallpaper
  2. Demo tile
  3. Lay wood floors
  4. Change coat closet door
  5. Remove carpet and refurbish stairs
  6. New light fixture
  7. Possibly replace door to basement
  8. Furnish and accessorize

Since this was taken we have put the baseboards back up. I was not concerned with preserving them as we want to install a chunkier molding soon. I have been looking for just the right entry table on craigslist. The right occasional table is so hard to find especially when you need really specific measurements.

Who knows the wonders Tuesday will hold now that the planning series is over!
