Our leftover red-black rug that had to come out of hiding upstairs to our living room was no longer welcome, including as just a stand-in. The black walls could not even begin to make sense while it was present.
After lots of hunting, we found our favorite – this Vienna rug.
Contrast! Depth! So much better. It is a mass produced piece, but we are so pleased because it arrived super fast and is very soft. (And having a soft rug that is also vintage at the same time is going to require lots of money since they are often so scratchy or worn).
I am considering cooking up a project of adding some tassels to give it more character and harness a little one-of-a-kind flare feelings. It would have to be just right, though and look original to the carpet, not tacked on.
Side note, astute readers will notice I exchanged these gray slipper chairs for cream. I know! After I agonized about the color. Sometimes just living with something for a while brings all the clarity.
Also, I just came into a bit of gift card money that may allow me to replace our coffee table. Please!
