ANNOUNCING THE COOKBOOK TITLE & COVER!

July 12, 2016

A portion of my office wall has been covered with lots of tacked up food photos as I have continued for months working away on my cookbook. Today there is wonderful news – I can finally share with you the title and cover! It was not fun to keep it quiet. We have an official release date too, February 7, 2017. Happily Homemade: Cooking with Love includes 100 recipes (with photos of every dish!) along with tips focused on hospitality for a new generation of homemakers.

You can see the cover here.

I have previously written about some behind the scenes details of the process for having my first book published. You can read here about my experience working with a publisher, getting an agent, and writing a book proposal.

You can see more details over on AmazonBarnes & Noble, and Books-A-Million. I imagine that much like Harry Potter there will soon be an amusement park spin-off of Happily Homemade.

      Thank you Rachel!

Off topic: Gnocchi with Chicken and Broccoli – absolutely great! The shallots in the dish were nice. Everyone needs to make this…

      Yay! Thanks Chris.

Rachel, I am so impressed! The cover is enticing and so attractive. The recipes of yours that I have tried have been very good. I have been enjoying your blog for several years and am thrilled that next year, I will get to enjoy your book! I may not be your typical reader…I recently retired after 30 years as an RN, have grown children, am not religious but am very spiritual (and spirited), have been a vegetarian since age 19, love food and usually enjoy cooking. Reading your posts brings back so many memories of my own adventures in remodeling and creating a home for my family many years ago. You are building a cherished space for your family; physical, emotional, and spiritual ground for your children to grow both roots and wings, the base from which your family will weather any storms that may blow your way, terra firma of love. I hope for you lots of good sleep(!), an awareness and appreciation of all the seemingly unimportant little moments with your family (no moment is unimportant), delicious food and smooth sailing til publication!

      Wonderful! Thank you, Annie.

  • Congratulations! The cover of this cookbook is adorable, but I would expect nothing less :) You go girl!

      Wow! Thanks Amanda : )

This is so exciting for you! Every recipe of yours that I’ve tried has been very good, healthy, and simple to make. Tonight for dinner, we’re having Gnocchi with Chicken and Romesco Sauce – can’t wait to try it. I already made the sauce this morning and – so good. I’ll be adding some shallots because it sounds like it would work. I’m very fortunate in that my husband tries everything…makes my life easier! I love the cover you’ve chosen for your cookbook.
