OVEN ROASTED GREEN BEANS

March 26, 2018

Are green beans the best vegetable ever? All I know is, for well prepared ones with a generous dashing of salt, I start asking myself if I like them better than french fries. Here’s a simple way to prepare these versatile legumes with some classic flavor. For eating I like snapping or cutting off the ends of course (great kitchen job for little ones by the way, more ideas here). But I do think they are prettier with the natural look of the ends left on.

Oven Roasted Green Beans
Serves four

1 pound green beans
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 teaspoons balsamic vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Grated parmesan cheese

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

On a lined baking sheet, toss green beans with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Arrange green beans in a single layer.

Roast for 15 minutes. Top with grated parmesan.

I did not use as much of the dry spices as called for. Best green beans I ever made!

    Tried this, really taste good!

    My experiences:
First time: 25 minutes at 450 degrees. Beans were very shriveled and brown. Too salty.

Second time: 20 minutes at 400 degrees. Did not add any salt. Beans were much better in appearance and taste.

    Make again!

I love this one!!!! Thank you for posting.

I must be doing something wrong cause 2x’s my beans have gotten burned. Is 450 correct temperature?

Try reducing the heat to 400. All ovens are different.
