Lately, I have been feeling so ready for Fall, I am trying to coerce the weather by making dishes, doing activities, and dressing as if it were already here. In my book if it is not chilly out, it is still Summer.

This warm apple-cinnamon with a touch of savory aroma will fill your whole house. #onions.

Pork! It is the other white meat.

Apple Cinnamon Slow Cooker PorkloinApple Cinnamon Slow Cooker Porkloin
Serves five to six

2 pound porkloin
1 apple, sliced thinly
3 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 onion, sliced
1/2 cup apple juice
1/2 cup vegetable broth

Slice slits into porkloin horizontally, about 3/4 through meat. Fill each slit with an apple slice and drizzle honey over top. Sprinkle with cinnamon.

Transfer porkloin to slow cooker. Layer onions over top. Pour in apple juice and vegetable broth. Cook on high for 5 to 6 hours or on low for 7 to 8 hours.

  • Thanks for the delicious recipe. Wrap it in foil and place it in indirect heat on the grill. It gives a slightly smokey taste. You should add a little bit of cinnamon to it. This makes it even tastier.

    Also works well in a Dutch oven, cooked one hour in the oven at 350. For this I added a quarter cup of apple juice in the bottom, and used two one-pound pork loins. I also cut the apple slices thicker. Many happy reviews from the table!

    I added small potatoes, turnips and carrots to the pot the first time I made it. The vegetables didn’t cook enough and were too hard/tough. Tonight I pre-cooked the vegetables prior to adding to the pot and it came out great. Still haven’t decided to add apple juice/cider to the mix. Still a great and very tasty recipe.

    Looks delicious and will try soon! One comment however, some commenters talked about using a pork TENDERLOIN. Tenderloin and loin are two different cuts. Hope this is helpful.

    2 tablespoons of cinnamon. is that correct?
    I put 1 table spoon’s worth on and it look liked I’d dropped the meat on the beach.
    It’s cooking now with just 1.

    Hi there, I recently pinned this idea for pork tenderloins because it’s such a neat idea.
    Just wanted to give you a small tip if you don’t mind. If you trim that “silver skin” from your tenderloins prior to cooking, they’ll turn out so much more tender and not try to seize up aka curl up on you.

    Great recipe, but the cooking time was definitely off, even for a 1 pound tenderloin. It was closer to 6 hours cook time on low for me.

      Brining meat means to soak it in a saltwater solution before cooking.

    Thank you for sharing this recipe. I found it on Pinterest whilst looking for something simple, yet healthy to make for dinner last night. It’s rare to find a crockpot recipe that only takes 4 hours on low setting, but we went ahead and made it. It tasted pretty good. Smelled AMAZING in our apartment when I got home from my friend’s house, but as previous posters had mentioned, I should have brined the meat prior to cooking it. It was pretty bland in flavor overall. Luckily, we had some BBQ sauce in the fridge, and that helped immensely. Will brine next time (and there WILL be a next time!) and I’ll also serve it up with a green veggie and a potato dish. We just did mac and cheese as a side, which worked just fine. Thanks again.

    I never usually comment and am generally underwhelmed by many slow cooker recipes that I try from Pinterest, but this was hands down the BEST and EASIEST pork loin dish I’ve ever made!

    I did brine the pork for 36hrs beforehand with sea salt and balsamic vinegar, and subbed pure maple syrup for the honey as that’s all I had on hand. Absolutely divine…thank you so much!!

      I am going to give this recipe a try since all the reviews are good.When I buy pork tenderloin they come 2 in a pack and are not thick. Do you use a tenderloin or a pork loin which are thicker. Is the cook time 3-4 hours on low. Because most pork tenderloin recipes I have pinned say 6-8 on low and 3-4 hours on high. I am going to cut the tenderloin in half and try this recipe in case we do not like it so I can make the other how we know we will like it. I usually only cook chuck roasts,whole chicken, chicken tacos,lasagna, soups and chili in the crock pot.I have tried chicken breasts with a soy sauce and honey mixture that the chicken breasts just came out way to stringy. I usually like to sear my pork tenderloins and bake them in the oven.So I have not liked the results for most recipes with chicken or pork in the crock pot. Hope you can respond soon since I am planning on putting this in the crock pot after lunch.

        I buy he tenderloin at BJ’S and the natural one comes as one big junk of about 3-4pounds
        Works great for this. But I cut it in half to fit better in the crockpot. Making it right now. Hope its as good as it looks and smells already

        I am going to try this recipe but not sure about the cooking time. I am cutting the tenderloin in half just in case we do not like it so I can have the other with something we do like.But with the reviews they all seem good so going to give it a try. Is the cooking time really only 3-4 hours even if I used a whole tenderloin. My tenderloin is not the thicker ones but they come 2 in a pack and are thinner not like a pork loin.i usually use my crock pot for chuck roast, chicken tacos and whole chickens or soups and chili. I have not had much luck with chicken breasts or pork. It seems to change the texture or flavor. I usually cook by pork by searing them first and then baking in the oven. Would it hurt for me to sear this recipe before I put in crock pot. I hope to hear from you soon.

    This was amazing! I brined the pork in salt and brown sugar first, and cooked it on low for an hour and then reduced to “keep warm” for the rest of the time because my crock lot tends to overcook everything. I checked the temp with a meat thermometer to make sure it was done. I also only used half the cinnamon because my husband doesn’t love it and it turned out to be the perfect amount. I served roasted butternut squash with maple syrup as a side and it was perfect! It’ll be a staple meal this fall and winter. Thank you!!

    I’ve made this a few times now and I never really write reviews.. But my family loves this (2 kids and a husband) Its never easy to have them all like the same thing, but this one is a winner. Just the right amount of sweet and savory.. I even added a bit of my fresh rosemary in the last hour of cooking. :-)

  • Ok, I’m going to try this but not in my slow cooker. Hope it works! I plan on cooking it low in the oven covered well. I often cook meat slow in the oven as my boyfriend has a “stigma” about my slow cooker ( have to use it when he is gone ALL day!). I will let you all know how it turned out!

    Wow, if I had ordered this in a restaurant, I would have been happy! I added walnuts to mine, and am keeping them in for next time. I also would like to thank Brianna for the glaze suggestion she made for the extra juice from the slow cooker. Excellent suggestion, and delicious.     Cook this tonight. Very good. Tender. My husband like the apples. Next time I may add a few more slices. Served with asparagus, brussel sprouts and a bake potato. This will be added to our menu rotation.

    I added sage and rosemary instead if the onions. It was wonderful! I also put it in the oven at 350
    For about 40 minutes because I didn’t plan ahead for the crockpot and it still was great.

    I’ve made this twice now and it is so good. I have not tried it in the crock pot yet. Both times I just baked it in the oven at 325 for about an hour, depending on the size. The first time I cut the ingredients in half since I was only making a small serving and I found it needed more honey so the 2nd time I used the recommended about of honey and I could taste it. I will continue to use this recipe as it is now a favorite of mine and next time I am going to try it in the crock pot

    I put a little water in the bottom because I used a slow cooker liner… All the surrounding apples have no taste…darn! Next time I won’t use a liner or water

    Hi! I put mine in 4 hours ago and it’s not even close to done. I had a feeling a 3lb pork loin wouldn’t be done on low for 6-8 hrs. It would sound right if its on high for 3-4. Am I right?

    I made this today for dinner and I wish it wouldn’t have gotten so watery. I drained it twice during cooking and the second time decided to be proactive about it and put the liquid in a pot and made a delicious glaze! It’s phenomenal and I will be making this again.. Perhaps in the oven though.

        Rachel – made this last night (came home to it after a long day at work) and it was delightful. I substituted brown sugar with honey as I thought we had honey in the cupboard and we did NOT, and I also did add a cup of water just to make sure there was enough moisture. It didn’t keep its shape to slice; it basically shredded on its own (nice and tender) and was awesome over potatoes. Thanks for a great recipe.
