I’ve been scouting every thrift store in our area non-stop for some needed furniture pieces with no success. What is with this? All my go-to stores are either 1) super junky or 2) normal thrift-level junky-ness, but with crazy high prices. High prices as in, I could buy the same thing at Target brand new.

I’m a little disheartened. Any tips from pro-thrifters? I’ll probably just hold out for yard sale season. The items I want are some kind of console table for the living room/entry way, and some general storage and side tables. Maybe craigslist will have good things in store for me. This tweet sums up my presence on that gem of a site.

Despite these failures, we’re inching along making this place a bit homier, such as this pretty woven basket for $7.

  • It was so nice meeting you this weekend! :)

I sign up for emails at http://www.estatesales.net/ where you can view the estate sales going on each week and see pics and lists of what will be for sale to determine if you want to go check them out. It can be addicting!
