GRADUATION

April 29, 2012

Below I have transcribed 11 Reasons I love Michigan State University.
1. Class is cancelled if the professor is more than 15 minutes late. It never happens, but the thrill of the possibility was absolutely enchanting.
2. The Dairy Store. I like how they have a different flavor for Big 10 schools. No matter how hard I try, Maize and Blueberry is my favorite.
3. The CATA. I love the buses! I spent approximately 256 hours on them the year I lived at chandler’s. This is a real calculation; I didn’t just make up that number.
4. Disliking zeke the wonder dog. He barely ever catches the frisbees. Everyone just relax.

5. The sensation of thinking you may have found out someone you know is sparty.
6. Old trees
7. Athletics! We won the greatest college basketball game every played! Magic Johnson vs. Larry Bird. MSU takes the 1979 NCAA Title. Plus, another hundred great things since too. Greg Jones. Mateen Cleaves. Everybody loves Draymond. Captain Kirk.
8. Pokey sticks from Gumby’s.
9. Wilson dorm.
10. Being on an IM Volleyball team. And that our team name was “Teenage Dream.”
11. It’s where I met my husband!

CREAM CHEESE FROSTING

March 8, 2012

When it comes to be Autumn, I want cream cheese frosting with pumpkin things almost constantly! And a cream cheese frosting is important other times of year, perhaps most notably with a carrot cake, which I like in springtime. Frosting is not even my favorite part of a dessert, but I get excited about this. One great place for it? These pumpkin cupcakes of course. And many more things too. I actually enjoy almost any cake with cream cheese frosting.

HOW TO REALLY GET YOUR PRODUCE CLEAN (IT’S EASY)

March 1, 2012

I either don’t bother cleaning certain fruits and vegetables, or if I’m going to take the time to clean it I want to actually accomplish something. When I feel like being thorough I do this. Create a mixture of one part apple cider vinegar and ten parts water.  Add your produce to mixture and swirl around (if small, like berries) or slowly pour mixture over larger produce in a colander, scrubbing throughout. Strain and rinse with fresh water.

That’s it! To give you an idea, for twelve ounces of berries, I used about 1/4 cup vinegar and 3 and 1/4 cups water.

The vinegar kills bacteria and mold spores on the surface of the fruit! My produce lasts longer with this method.
