THINKING ABOUT THE SUMMER OF 2020

June 29, 2020

This post is part of a series I do to write important things I need to tell you about and a mix of homemaker stuff. And let’s be honest, sometimes popular culture because I am I think going to always be someone who engages with “the arts” AND I HAVE THOUGHTS. I love doing things by the seasons, so I share one that often. There are some re-occuring categories such as: “all is vanity,” “a follow,” “into it!,” “prime-able,” “a cry for help,” and “I am not tech-y, but.”

big news!!: if you like these posts, you’ll LOVE LOVE the new shop page! it’s where i put a curation of links to buyable things i think you would like and i like too. many of which are on amazon and prime-able. right now there are home decor, children, favorite books, children’s books, kitchen, and favorite cookbooks sections. i have ideas for a few more too like cleaning, cosmetics, and clothing (mom and kids). let me know if you have any other ideas you want to see. A thing about me, I like beautiful versions of even utilitarian things (and definitely kid things too). YOU KNOW THIS.

a cry for help: related to sourcing. i am pretty into sourcing cute versions of things and one that i have never seen a good one of is a puddle jumper. please contact me with help if you ever find one.

mom style: i needed a new purse that fits the iphone 11 but is still small. out of necessity that I just needed one because i couldn’t do another round of errands with my phone half fitting in my purse and in danger of crashing to the cement, I ordered this one and it was only $17.50, came like, instantly and had lots of color options. pleased!

into it!: strands of wooden beads are a versatile, stylish decor element. i ordered these very inexpensively and strung a bunch of them up and put tassels on the end and they add great little layer to so many places!

prime-able: a plant (on amazon) that doesn’t really die. even with zero sunlight. which given plants 101 i don’t understand but god made a wonderful world!

kitchen stuff: my all time favorite cutting board. never warps and is fine with hot stuff. AND GOES IN THE DISHWASHER. i still have the first ones i bought, eight years and counting.

  • Hi Rachel,

    Thank you for the post.

Question on the cutting boards. Do you need to put anything under them so they don’t slip?

    Thank you

    • Rachel Schultz

Nope! I’ve not had any problems with that.
