PEANUT BUTTER CRACKLE BROWNIES

There is cause for celebration! Today is Rachel Schultz blog’s 500th post! That went by fast. And that is a lot of hours of writing, snapping photos, editing, cooking, and decorating. Hooray for all of it!

PEANUT BUTTER CRACKLE BROWNIES

PEANUT BUTTER CRACKLE BROWNIES
Serves 16 brownies

1 box brownie mix (9×9 size)
1/2 cup crushed peanuts
12 peanut butter cups, chopped
1 and 1/2 cups chocolate chips
1 tablespoon butter
1 cup peanut butter
2 cups crispy rice cereal
1 teaspoon vanilla

Bake brownie mix according to package instructions. With five minutes remaining on bake time, remove pan from oven and sprinkle with chopped peanut butter cups.

Return to oven for remaining cook time. Sprinkle baked brownies with crushed peanuts. Immediately spread peanuts and melted peanut butter cups across top of brownies. In a large bowl, microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter for about 2 minutes, until melted.

Stir vanilla and cereal into bowl and mix well. Pour mixture over brownies and spread in an even layer. Chill in fridge for two hours.

Return to room temperature before serving.
