December 29, 2015

This year, 2015, was easily the best year of my life. Not joking! Throughout the Winter and Spring we were house hunting. January brought the cold, bitter months in Michigan.

In February, I did my annual Blog Birthday and had too much fun making pie charts.

We also went on vacation to Savannah and Hilton Head. February in Michigan is seriously the worst, so you are going to want to evacuate the area.

Around May I started a little bit losing my mind about if we were going to find a house to buy in time for the second baby. We did, course! And we said goodbye to the apartment. I thought I would be sad, but I was not at all.

This picture of our old living room still melts my heart a little.

Now, we are a family of four! With that, the other biggest part of 2015 was getting to work on the manuscript for the new cookbook. This last part of the year has been operating on all cylinders to finish it!

    Hello, Rachel!

I stumbled onto your website by sheer fate, as I was looking for a tasty chicken fried rice recipe for my husband. I am a secretary by occupation and a writer by vocation. I’ve also begun becoming a secret foodie, thanks to my mother-in-law’s brilliant influence. She is first generation Italian and THE BEST cook/baker I have ever encountered. I am looking SO forward to viewing your website on a daily basis!! I hope you, your husband and the two little citizens in your family have a WONDERFUL 2016!!! Keep up the GREAT WORK:)

      Thank you Lesia!

  • Your old living room is so cute! I like the idea of tight spaces like that. Our apartment is too big for it to look small unfortunately :/I can’t wait for your cookbook! I’m promising myself this year to make more meals at home, instead of going out to eat, Happy New year love!

I love the collected look in decorating. It helps big spaces still feel cozy.
